Eligibility
Each candidate must be an Entomological Society of America (ESA) member
and a postdoctoral student, working in insect control by attractants,
repellents, biological controls, thermo controls, or chemical controls.
Second priority will be given to those students working in insect control of
medical or veterinary importance. If there is no suitable candidate in these
categories, candidates working in physiology or toxicology may be considered.
A grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. This award amount is
based on the earnings from the investment.

Applications/nominations must be submitted electronically. Please click

Award Procedures
Grant applications should include the following information:
1. Letter of nomination
2. A letter of
application describing eligibility
3. Two typewritten pages
describing research in one of the areas
defined above
4. Graduate-level and
postgraduate transcripts
5. Two letters of recommendation, one from a major
professor and
one from a previous
instructor 6. Background information

Deadline
Application/nomination packages must be received by the Entomological
Foundation Headquarters by July 1.
Renomination
Any candidate nominated, but not selected, may be renominated no more than
two times within the two-year period after his/her initial submission.
Application/nomination packages will be retained for two years by the
Entomological Foundation Headquarters. Nominators must send a letter of
renomination to melodie@entfdn.org
by the award deadline above. Previously submitted documentation will be
used for the evaluation process unless the nominator submits new or
updated documents. The renomination e-mail must contain this additional
documentation. New or updated documents must follow the
electronic submission requirements.
Notification
The Entomological Foundation Headquarters will notify all candidates and
their nominators, where applicable, with the results of their application.
