WHAT ARE INSECTS
Insects are animals -- a very specific kind of animal. They live under oceans, in deserts, on glaciers, in volcanoes, and -- yes -- even in your home. And there are wwaaaaayyyyyyyy more insects than people. Insects do lots of good work, like pollinating crops, cleaning up waste and turning it into good soil. They provide researchers with clues to answers on all kinds of scientific riddles, from curing cancer to fighting crime. They may even hold the secret to ending world hunger.
