The Entomological Foundation's 2004 Awards:

Snodgrass Memorial Research Award

This award recognizes outstanding research by graduate students who have completed investigations in selected areas of entomology. Since Dr. Snodgrass was a leader in insect morphology, the award recipient must have completed his/her research thesis or dissertation in a related field of entomology. The prize varies each year; this year the award brings $300 and a certificate.

Matthew S. Wallace received his Ph.D. and M.S. degree in Entomology at North Carolina State University. His B.S. degree in Renewable Natural Resources is from the University of Connecticut. His dissertation entitled “Phylogeny and Systematics of the Treehopper Subfamily Centrotinae (Insecta: Hemiptera: Membracidae)” involves the morphology, systematics, taxonomy and evolution of the treehopper subfamily. He has 13 refereed publications to his name.
