Award for Excellence in
Integrated
Pest Management

The award shall be made
on the basis of outstanding contributions which have a direct
relation to integrated pest management. Special consideration shall
be given to independence of thought and originality. Previous recipients
of this award are not eligible for future nominations. The award consists of an amount that varies depending
upon the interest earned from the endowment and an inscribed plaque. The awardee will be presented with the award at the
Entomological Society of America's (ESA) annual meeting.
Eligibility
A nominee must be an Entomological Society of America (ESA) member
and must have made outstanding contributions to
integrated management. A recipient of a widely
recognized scientific award will not be eligible for this award unless
the accomplishment cited as the basis for nomination represents new work.
Previous recipients of the Integrated Pest Management Award are not eligible
for future nominations.

Nomination Process
Application/nominations must
be submitted electronically. Please click
here
for details on electronic submission requirements. Each ESA
branch is to submit one nominee to the Entomological Foundation each year.
(One nominee per Branch that Rolls-up to National.) The
nominees selected, should be selected on a merit basis from a review of
recently published work. Individual nominations may be made by any
Entomological Society of America member, but nominations through a branch are
encouraged.
Award Procedures
Applications/nominations must be accompanied by supporting data, arranged in the
following format:
- Letter of Nomination
- Summary of research
accomplishments
- Background information

4. Letter of recommendation (maximum
three)
Five of the most relevant reprints of each candidate's paper must accompany
the nomination. These papers should be those that were published during the
last three to four years and which are related to the research being
considered. These are essential if the candidates are to be evaluated on research
quality, originality, interpretation, presentation, and impact of the
results. A bibliography of these and additional articles on which the
research is based should be furnished. Only published research will be
accepted by the Awards Committee.
Deadline
Application/nomination packages must be received by the Entomological Foundation
Headquarters by July 1.
Renomination
Any candidate nominated, but not selected, may be renominated no more than
two times within the two-year period after his/her initial submission.
Application/nomination packages will be retained for two years by the Entomological
Foundation Headquarters. Nominators must send a letter of renomination to
melodie@entfdn.org by the award deadline above. Previously submitted documentation will be used for the
evaluation process unless the nominator submits new or updated documents. The renomination e-mail must contain this additional documentation. New or updated
documents must follow the
electronic submission
requirements.
Notification
The Entomological Foundation Headquarters will notify all candidates and
their nominators, where applicable, with the results of their application.
