The International Congress on Insect Neurochemistry and Neurophysiology (ICINN) Student Recognition Award in Insect Physiology, Biochemistry, Toxicology, and Molecular Biology

 

Joao Pedra is currently a Post-Doctoral Associate in Molecular Pathogenesis of Vector Borne Diseases at Yale University School of Medicine-Department of Internal Medicine-Section of Rheumatology. He received his Ph.D. in Entomology at Purdue University. His M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Chemistry and his B.Sc. degree in Biology are from the Universidade Federal de Vicosa, Brazil. His Ph.D. research focused on the study of target-site and DDT metabolism based insecticide resistance in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. He has eight refereed publications to his name.
