Eligibility
Applicants must have been enrolled in the previous Fall as undergraduate student in entomology at a college or university in the United States, Mexico, or Canada and must have accumulated a minimum of 30 college credit hours at the time the award is presented in August. Students must have completed at least one course in Entomology or a project in Entomology. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.

Nomination Process

Award Procedures
The completed application must contain the following:

  1. Name, address, phone number, e-mail address, university or college where enrolled, major, grade point average, and the number of semester or quarter hours compiled
     
  2. Statement from the student concerning interest in entomology, career goals, financial need, and other pertinent factors which illustrate qualifications for the scholarship (limited to two typewritten pages)
     
  3. Three typewritten statements from school officials or other knowledgeable individuals attesting to entomological interests, character, aptitude, and financial need
     
  4. Current official transcript of college grades (may be sent separately)
  5. Application, attach to assembled packet. Application is required and can be downloaded as an MS Word document. Please download, fill-out, save to the hard drive, and attach application to the packet. 

 Deadline
Application packages must be received by the Entomological Foundation Headquarters at 9332 Annapolis Rd. #210 Lanham, MD 20706 (for transcripts), electronic submissions are to be e-mailed to: melodie@entfdn.org   by June 1.

Renomination
Scholarship winners may reapply up to three times. Any applicant not selected, may reapply no more than two times within the two-year period after his/her initial submission. Application packages will be retained for two years by the Entomological Foundation Headquarters. Applicants must send a letter of reapplication to melodie@entfdn.org by the award deadline. Previously submitted documentation will be used for the evaluation process unless the applicant submits new or updated documents. The reapplication e-mail must contain this additional documentation. New or updated documents must follow the electronic submission requirements.

Notification
The Entomological Foundation Headquarters will notify all applicants with the results of their application.
