Awards

The Entomological Foundation and the Entomological Society of America (ESA) provide several annual honors and awards to recognize scientists, educators, and students, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to entomology. For more information on procedures of the Foundation and ESA awards and honors please click here.

Please note: There are new procedures for award nominations in place for 2004. In particular, there is a maximum limit of 20 pages that each nomination package can contain. Also, no paper nominations will be accepted.

In 2004, The Entomological Foundation is continuing to administer its own awards. However, nomination procedures are the same as those of ESA, and the ESA Standing Committee on Awards will continue to review Foundation award nominees. Please select from the list below for a description of the award, eligibility requirements, and nomination procedures.

Awards and Honors Procedures

The Entomological Foundation and ESA  awards and honors programs are conducted under the guidance of the ESA Governing Board and assisted by the ESA Standing Committees on Awards, Education, Fellows, Honorary Membership, and by Section A.

In 2004, The Entomological Foundation is continuing to administer its own awards. However, nomination procedures are the same as those of ESA, and the ESA Standing Committee on Awards will continue to review Foundation award nominees.

In general, each branch may establish a canvassing committee which solicits and, in some instances, acts as a screening committee for selecting nominations. All award nominations, whether individually submitted or submitted through branch committees, must be received by the National Office by the annual deadline.
